In order to ensure that the hard drive is prepared to run macOS on it, please run the to create a partition for the RAID drive. The utility will create the volume with the necessary specifications. Once the RAID drive has been configured successfully, macOS will need to be installed on the drive, and afterwards the drive will need to be selected as the Startup Disk. Installing macOS on a My Passport Pro: In order to install a version of macOS on a My Passport Pro, please follow the next steps: • Start by restarting the Mac system by clicking on the Apple icon on the top left of the screen and then clicking on Restart.

• When the system starts up, press and hold the Command and the R keys (Command + R) at the same time. Keep holding both buttons together until the Apple icon appears. • When prompted, select to boot from the Recovery HD drive. • Shortly after selecting the Recovery HD, macOS Utilities will come up. From the options listed, select Reinstall Mac OS X. Does visio work for mac. • Accept the terms of use by clicking on Agree and then select the My Passport Pro as the disk where the OS will be installed. • The installation will begin by downloading components of the OS that are not included on the installation media.

Once the download is complete, the installer will immediately start installing macOS on the drive. This process can take several hours depending on the Mac computer's specifications and the speed of the internet connection. • Once the installation is done, a window will appear stating that the installation was successful. Restart the computer by clicking on the Restart option.

Configuring macOS to boot from a My Passport Pro: Once macOS has been successfully installed on the hard drive, the drive is a bootable drive. In order to select which hard drive is to be the bootup drive, please follow next steps: • Click on the Apple icon on the top left of the screen and select System Preferences. • Under System Preferences, open Startup Disk. • Startup Disk will include a list of the bootable hard drives that are connected to that computer. Select whichever drive is to be the startup drive. • Once the desired drive has been selected, close the Startup Disk panel. • When done, and proceed to once again restart the computer to verify that the process was successful.
