Thank you for this info, sadly the problem still exists even with wi-fi off.:-(. HP says that your printer is compatible with High Sierra. Another owner of the printer posted on the HP forum that it isn't recognized; HP recommended the same first-step. Other models have similar problems..
One workaround that worked for some people is changing to a different font than the default. Another tried selecting the Airprint driver and that did the trick.
I have also found that trying an alternative driver fixes some problems. In my experience it was avoiding using the Airprint driver even though it seemed to be the logical choice. Fixing printer problems often requires thinking outside the box and trying things that aren't exactly logical. Point is, High Sierra broke other HP printers besides yours.. I got lots of hits using a Startpage search. I recommend installing a major OS update on a bootable external drive and testing it thoroughly before doing an update on your Mac's internal drive.

You can find the suitable software from the manufacturer's site. Normally when this type of error displays, just deleting the software and reinstalling a new one can actually solve it. Since you have already tried it and didn't find it as a permanent solution, I would recommend you to try this one. Try to install the software from the manufacturer's site again, without deleting the previous one. It will overwrite your already installed one and now check if the issue is solved. Also, check if the printer's software is installed properly. Try to reset the printer, as resetting the printer forces the printer to reset stored values in the firmware.
